Fun family times

William is mimicking more sounds lately. Today he made the "ssss" sound after hearing the word "snake", "zzzzz" as in "zebra", "ball", "fffff" as in "fish".

In other William-related news, we have decided to change up his bedtime routine so that he no longer gets milk just before bed. Tonight, Andrew read him three stories and we kissed him goodnight and left him in his crib. He fussed for about three minutes and then gradually fell asleep on his own.

Boeing Air Field

We had a great weekend. On Friday night, I went out with a friend to Finaghty's and had a great time chatting until 2am!!! On Saturday morning, I drove out to Carnation for an awesome Restorative Yoga class that was just what this mommy needed! Saturday afternoon, we took a trip to IKEA and got some shelves for Grandma Donna's room. On Sunday morning, we had brunch at Mike's and then drove out to Renton to the Boeing Air Field to watch planes and helicopters flying over our heads. William loved it and got very excited about all the airplanes flying around. When he sees an airplane a big grin covers his face and he points excitedly in the air at the plane flying by. After watching planes, William fell asleep in the car while we drove to Lake Union to scope out good float plane viewing locales and we drove around a while to give him a chance to sleep. Grandma Jenny and Papa Roy were at our place unloading cobblestones from their truck when we arrived home. We helped them unload the remaining cobblestones and then went inside for a little visit. Later that evening, we made homemade macaroni and cheese and had a fun visit with Tara and Mia over dinner!

Fun times at the aquarium.

I just wanted to jot down a few things that William is doing lately.

Yesterday, he was able to point out objects in a book when I would ask him, "William can you point to the elephant?". He is saying and signing "all done". He signs "please". He gets very excited in the morning to see my mother and her dog, Ivan. He likes to lean his head down toward Ivan and nuzzle him.

He also gets very excited to see Andrew when he gets home from work. He used to get very overwhelmed with emotion when Andrew first returned to work and would bang his head and run away when he would first see Andrew. I think this was because he didn't know how to handle the emotions he felt about missing his daddy.

He likes to carry around empty cups of Starbucks drinks and soda cans.

Today I told him that I needed to change his diaper and he brought over his Thomas the tank engine book for my mother to read to him during his diaper change because he remembered she had done that for him the night before.

He still doesn't quite know how to regulate how much he eats and yesterday at naptime he vomited after drinking his bottle of milk because he was too full from breakfast and lunch.

He looks adorable in overalls these days.

He loved wearing his sandals and clomping around on the hard wood floors today. He also loved being carried by my mother and I while we danced to music playing on the iPod as we were cleaning up from dinner. He loved eating fish sticks and cauliflower for dinner this evening. He likes to carry shoes around and puts them in surprising places. I finally found the mate to one of my shoes on the computer CPU in Andrew's office this afternoon after it had been missing for 2 days.

He has been saying "uh oh, da da da da, uh oh da da da da" lately. He loves to say "mmmm" when he's eating.

Mmmmm, yummy!

Thursday

William loved playing at the Pacific Science Center after visiting Lucy, the hominid.
William realized that he could see me through his legs and started giggling. I started giggling at his giggling and we went on like this for 20 minutes. This made my day!
William received his train table in the mail today and it was a big hit!!

Today was a gorgeous sunny day. Andrew's parents came by and dropped off a load of cobble stone and visited with William for a little while. William had a fun time playing in the snow while his grandparents unloaded the truck. He is such a cutie monkey. During breakfast he started mimicking how I say "mmmm, yummy" when he eats and would repeat "mmmmm" and then giggle. I love this little man so very much. This afternoon his train table arrived and he loved playing with his trains and cars on his track.
