Auntie Holly

Hard to believe that this picture was taken over a year ago. Today was a busy day around here. In the AM, William and I went to a park and he enjoyed swinging and sliding until it got too windy and cold to stay outside anymore. Then we (my mom, William and I) drove around the neighborhood and explored the new housing developments in our area. During our drive, William fell fast asleep and that was it for his nap for the day. Any mommy reading those words knows what that means. Read: A cranky toddler.

After that we ran a few errands and found a couple sweet deals for next winter at the Hanna Andersson outlet. On our way home, we got a call from Autumn inviting us over for a play date so we headed over and had a fun time despite two very tired and cranky non-napped toddlers.

Tomorrow, Andrew has his first day back at work and William has his postponed 15 month check up.

We had some good news today: My mom doesn't need to have shoulder surgery!! Hooray hooray. We are all very relieved that she won't have to go through the long and difficult recovery afterwards!!

I have pretty much made up my mind that it isn't really the right time for me to leave William and return to work, but it's so hard to pass up such a good opportunity to keep up my nursing skills/experience and make some extra dough. This has been one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make in a very long time. Really it comes down to my not being ready to hand over William's care to someone else, even if that someone is my own mother. I can't stand the idea of missing out on William's 17, 18, 19...etc. month old self, even if it is only for 3 days a week. I know I can't get those days back in the future, but I can always get a job as a nurse. Maybe I'm just being too sentimental, but my gut says to stay home and enjoy taking care of William while he is still little.
